M1 prepaid customers can use their existing local data bundles in Malaysia and Indonesia from today.

The data roaming feature, available on M1’s partner networks Celcom in Malaysia and XL Axiata in Indonesia, offers M1 customers the convenience of using their existing data bundles when travelling to neighbouring countries.

M1’s attractively-priced prepaid data bundles are available from S$5 for 1GB of data, usable for up to three days, to S$30 for 3GB, usable for up to 50 days.

Customers can enjoy the roaming service at no additional charge by dialing #100#, and selecting Celcom’s network in Malaysia and XL Axiata’s network in Indonesia.

“Many Singaporeans travel regularly to our neighbouring countries for work, to do some shopping, and enjoy other leisure activities, and we want to give them the convenience of using the same mobile line wherever they are,” said Mr P. Subramaniam, Chief Marketing Officer, M1.

Prepaid customers can also look forward to even bigger value with Super Data, Singapore’s best-value prepaid top up. The S$30 Super Data top-up offers prepaid customers a supersized 2GB data bundle, and S$100 worth of local calls and SMS messages, valid for 30 days.

“Mobile data usage has grown alongside smartphone penetration within the prepaid segment, with average monthly prepaid data usage approaching 1GB1. With the 2GB data bundle on M1’s Super Data plan, prepaid users will find it even more convenient and cost-effective to get the most of their smartphones,” Mr Subramaniam added.

The 2GB data that comes with Super Data can also be used on our partner networks Celcom and XL Axiata in Malaysia and Indonesia respectively for free.
