📚 Big Book Giveaway is back this September 2025! 📚
📍 Head down to the National Library Building, Level 1 Plaza for a weekend filled with 60,000 bookish treasures and community spirit. These pre-loved books are from the library’s collections, and are generally older editions. Expect to pick from a selection of genres ranging from fantasy and science fiction to mystery and adult non-fiction, as well as various Mother Tongue books for children and adults. Books will be sorted into categories, with a dedicated section for books about and from Singapore.
This much-loved event returns on 13 & 14 September 2025, from 10am to 4pm daily.
What to Expect
- 📚 Pick up pre-loved books from the community – all completely FREE!
- 🎁 Lucky Dip: 60 lucky winners will walk away with surprise prizes.
- 🌱 Support sustainability by giving books a second life.
- 🎉 No registration needed – just bring your own reusable bags and drop by!

Visitors may bring home 10 books per person. The books are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Bring and Share
You’re welcome to contribute your own pre-loved books (up to 50 per person). Please note that the following will not be accepted:
- Religious materials
- Textbooks and magazines
- Annual reports
- DVDs, CDs, or AV materials
- Damaged or worn-out items
Lucky Dip Details
✨ On both days, 60 participants will be randomly selected for a lucky dip. Stand a chance to win a mystery prize while enjoying the event. Terms and conditions apply.
