Beyond the recognisable crystal-mesh media facade, a vibrant pulse beats at Bugis+ – the mall formerly known as iluma. Bugis+ amps up the level of vibrancy with a big line-up of new-fangled and established brands, in a refurbished setting that injects engaging fun into retail therapy.

Not your run-of-the-mill mall. Bugis+ seeks to be the urban lifestyle hub where the avant-garde crowd converges to shop, dine and play.

Innovative Retail Mix

As its very name suggests, there is simply more of everything at Bugis+. The mall stands out with a series of firsts on the scene.
Bugis+ holds the honour of housing UNIQLO’s largest and first street-level store in Singapore. The duplex outlet spans close to 20,000 square feet of shopping space with an in-store escalator that connects the two levels.

Japanese fashion continues to make waves on local shores with the first Lowrys Farm standalone shop. A stellar name back home, Lowrys Farm channels laid-back charm with an almost vintage vibe.

Another exhilarating first is the famous South Korean BonChon Chicken chain. Foodies are sure to be smitten by its fried chicken, which was recently named “the best chicken in America by the New York Times, GQ and Esquire.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Leading online game service provider Garena is set to create a powerhouse presence at Bugis+ with its first gaming experience store in Asia. An intriguing world of action and discoveries virtually awaits cyber aficionados.

Where Everything Is A Plus

However the excitement does not simply revolve round new-to-market concepts. The mall offers a platter of established brands in fashion, F&B and entertainment to I leave one spoilt for choice.

On the fashion front, established international brands rule. The list includes: Shana, Spanish’s fastest growing fashion | concept that marries style with value; Pull&Bear that speaks the language of hipster urbanites; Sephora, the world-adidas originals famous French cosmetics emporium; Bershka, the funky Spanish trendsetter; Aeropostale, outstanding for its American collegiate style; Celio, known for its distinctive designs, high quality and competitive prices; New Look, the latest fashion-forward high-street fashion; Denizen, a famous and well-known sub-brand of Levis’s; adidas Originals, the king of sportswear chic; Quiksilver, the board-rider’s quintessential favourite; Dockers, the coolest outdoor wear this side of town; and the irresistibly sexy CK Underwear.

There are more dining options too with novel F&B concepts like Aloha Ma Maison. Taipei Station, Prata Factory and Bread ‘n’ Butter Box. Familiar names such as CoCo ICHIBANYA, Yayoiken Japanese Restaurant, Kungfu Paradise, McDonald’s, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Gelataria Italia add to the gastronomic pleasure.

Last but not least, with recreational offerings like St Games (a video gaming cafe), K Suites Karaoke, FilmGarde Cineplex and The Joyden Hall (a multi-purpose event hall), Bugis+ is a veritable playground indeed.

Crowning the shopping experience is the convenience of easy accessibility. In addition to its strategic location in the heart of Singapore’s civic and cultural district, Bugis+ is directly connected to Bugis Junction and Bugis MRT Station by an overhead link bridge.

Although the rejuvenation exercise is slated to be fully completed in July, mall-goers can enjoy many of the new offerings at Bugis+ now. More than 90% of the outlets on Levels 1 and 2 of the mall, including UNIQLO, are open.
