Twenty one years on and The PC Show remains a crowd pleaser, showing no signs of slowing down.

Over four days (9-12 June), thousands thronged Suntec City to pick up the latest IT and consumer electronic products on display at Singapore’s longest running show of its kind.

Many had come to the show well prepared, not only with information on the prices and products they were eyeing but also trolleys to lug their buys.

Other seasoned visitors were happy to browse through exhibitor booths while waiting patiently for the last remaining hours of the show to try and get further bargains.

Popular buys among shoppers included notebook PCs, laptops, Desktop PCs, Smartphones, printers, cameras and TV sets.

Tay Choon Song, Senior Manager of Marketing Services & eBiz, Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd, said: “Our Satellite series of notebooks sold very well. The crowd response and our sales have been more than expected, with our performance besting last year’s.”

Henry Hsu, General Manager, Epicentre Pte Ltd, said that response had been good especially for newly launched products like B&O’s EarSet 3i which are exclusive to Epicentre. “Consumer buying power this year was strong, and sales generated at The PC Show have been tremendous. In fact, sales have been equal, if not better than a similar show which we had participated in earlier this year.”

Show organizer Lines Exposition & Management Services estimates sales volume for The PC Show 2011 to be more than S$53 million as compared to last year’s show which generated sales of about S$51.6 million.

The PC Show is one of Singapore’s anchor IT events. This year, The PC Show took up four floors of Suntec Singapore and encompassed four show sections: The PC Show 2011, Digital Imaging 2011, Game 2011, and Consumer Electronics 2011.

Over 600 exhibitors showcased IT and consumer electronic products by leading brands such as Acer, Apple, ASUS, Canon, Creative, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and Toshiba. There were also several first time exhibitors such as Fujifilm, Fuji Xerox, Lexmark, Sonic Gear and ViewSonic.
