From 1 October 2025, CIMB Bank Singapore has revised its promotional Fixed Deposit (FD) rates.

This update comes after the 5 September 2025 adjustment, where the bank had already scaled back its top-line interest rates.

The highest rate currently stands at 1.35% p.a., exclusively for Preferred Banking customers who place their FD via CIMB’s online banking platform. Regular Personal Banking customers also enjoy competitive rates, though slightly lower than Preferred clients.

📊 CIMB Fixed Deposit Rates (Effective 1 Oct 2025)

These promotional rates are available only through online placement. A minimum deposit of S$10,000 is required, regardless of the tenor chosen.

The difference between Personal and Preferred Banking rates remains modest, but consistent, rewarding long-term CIMB relationship clients.

📌 Who Can Apply & How

  • Promotion is open to both new and existing CIMB Singapore customers.
  • Deposits must be placed online only.
  • Minimum deposit: S$10,000 per placement.
  • Customers should review the official Terms & Conditions (PDF) before committing.

💡 Alternative Option: Why Wait Fixed Deposit-I

CIMB also offers the Why Wait Fixed Deposit-I Account, a Shariah-compliant product where returns are paid upfront. This option can be attractive for savers who prefer immediate interest payouts, although Preferred Banking rates do not apply here.

🔎 Compare Before You Decide

While CIMB’s FD rates are competitive, it is always advisable for Singapore savers to compare across banks. Other financial institutions may offer higher returns for certain tenors. A helpful resource is this Singapore deposit rate comparison guide, which is updated regularly.

✅ Conclusion

With rates of up to 1.35% p.a., CIMB’s latest FD promotion remains appealing, particularly for Preferred Banking customers. However, the adjustments highlight the importance of timing and market conditions when committing to fixed deposits. Savers should always weigh the tenors, minimum placement, and alternative FD products before deciding. A little comparison goes a long way in maximising returns.
