CIMB Bank Singapore has refreshed its online Singapore Dollar Fixed Deposit promotion from 21 September 2026, with rates of up to 1.85% p.a. for Preferred Banking placements and up to 1.80% p.a. for Personal Banking placements.

Update: CIMB Singapore SGD fixed deposit rates offer up to 2% p.a. from 1 Oct 2026

Qualifying promotional placements start from S$10,000, with tenors of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months available. The highest listed rate is available on the 12-month tenor, while Preferred Banking receives a 0.05 percentage point uplift across every listed promotional tenor. 📈

Each promotional placement can be up to S$1,000,000. Multiple placements may be held in an eligible account, while placements above S$1,000,000 remain subject to the bank’s approval.

Compared with the earlier 7 August 2026 update, the top advertised promotional rate has risen from 1.75% p.a. to 1.85% p.a., an increase of 0.10 percentage point 💹. Looking further back, CIMB’s headline online promotional rate has risen from 1.40% p.a. from 11 May 2026 to 1.50% p.a. from 1 June, 1.60% p.a. from 1 August, 1.75% p.a. from 7 August and now 1.85% p.a. from 21 September. That represents a 0.45 percentage-point increase from the 11 May headline rate.

📊 CIMB SGD Fixed Deposit online promotional rates

The following promotional rates apply to qualifying online placements of S$10,000 and above:

TenorPersonal Banking
Online Promo Rate (% p.a.)
Preferred Banking
Online Promo Rate (% p.a.)
3 Months1.351.40
6 Months1.751.80
9 Months1.751.80
12 Months1.801.85

The 6- and 9-month rates are identical within each banking segment, while the 12-month placement delivers the highest rate in the current promotional table. For funds that can remain untouched until maturity, the fixed rate can provide certainty over the selected tenor. Early access to funds may affect returns, so check withdrawal and maturity conditions before committing cash. 🔎

📝 How an online placement works

  1. Start the online application: MyInfo may be used when applying as a new customer.
  2. Complete account opening: A CIMB FastSaver account is opened for new online applicants to facilitate the SGD Fixed Deposit placement.
  3. Transfer placement funds: New applicants transfer funds into the CIMB FastSaver account from another bank in Singapore.
  4. Complete verification: Submit the required documents and information. A video call may be conducted for account verification.
  5. Review the placement: Check the banking segment, tenor, placement amount, promotional rate and maturity instructions before submission.
  6. Wait for processing: Once funds are received and submitted documents are in order, CIMB processes the Fixed Deposit placement.

💡 Alternative: CIMB Why Wait Fixed Deposit-i

For an alternative structure, the CIMB Why Wait Fixed Deposit-i Account uses the Murabahah concept and is managed in accordance with Shariah principles. Instead of receiving the return at maturity, profit is paid upfront. Its listed online promotional rates are the same as the Personal Banking SGD Fixed Deposit rates: 1.35% p.a. for 3 months, 1.75% p.a. for 6 and 9 months, and 1.80% p.a. for 12 months.

✅ What to compare before placing a fixed deposit

Consider the required holding period, access to emergency cash, maturity instructions and competing deposit rates before committing funds. A slightly higher headline rate may be less useful when funds are likely to be needed before maturity, while a suitable tenor can help lock in a known return for money that can remain set aside.

With the refreshed rate reaching 1.85% p.a., the 12-month Preferred Banking option carries the highest rate among CIMB’s listed online SGD Fixed Deposit promotional tenors. Before placing funds, check CIMB’s official SGD Fixed Deposit product page for the latest displayed rate and terms, then compare the tenor, banking segment, maturity instructions and need for liquidity carefully. 📌

Rates, eligibility and promotional availability may change at CIMB’s discretion.
