SINGAPORE, 2 November 2011 – From today, Visa will offer consumers in Singapore a more rewarding way to pay with the chance to win S$500 if they use their Visa Debit card when shopping online.
From now till 31 December 2011, Visa Debit cardholders stand to win S$500 with every online transaction and no minimum spend is required. Daily winners will be announced at the end of each month.
As more people go online, internet shopping across Asia Pacific has grown significantly. According to the Visa e-Commerce Consumer Monitor 2010 , convenience (83 percent) emerged as the top motivation for online shopping.
Other reasons included accessibility and ability to compare products and prices easily and potentially save money (81 percent). Consumers are also buying a wide variety of products and services, ranging from banking and financial services to clothes and shoes.
A Visa spokesperson said: “Whether it’s buying movie tickets over the weekend or indulging in some online retail therapy, it’s clear from our survey that online shopping is gaining popularity as it offers greater convenience and accessibility to goods and services. When consumers make online transactions, they now have additional incentive to use their Visa Debit cards.”
