Castor Cycle Tester
Designed to test the durability of castors used to support a box spring, based on British Standard EN12527.
Cornell Test
A machine that automatically measures and records any fatigue or errors on the innersprings of a mattress after applying repeated, controlled and counted strokes of a round-end plunger (ram head) to the surface. Cornell University specially developed this test for the American Hotel & Motel Association and the National Association of Bedding Manufacturers in the USA
Rollator Test
A 110 kg octagonal roller is used on the sleep surface of a mattress 100,000 times, based on American Standard ASTM FI566. Designed to replicate a person’s 10-year sleeping pattern who averages about 40 turns per night, rollators are also used to determine the mattresses mechanical durability and to ensure the sleep surface performs as designed for prolonged usage.
Heat Tempering
A very important process whereby the spring units are passed through an oven to make them less brittle and then strengthened so that they will retain their resilience and will not sag as easily.
