KFC Unveils its 12th Secret Ingredient this Christmas

KFC is excited to disclose its latest discovery with fans in Singapore this season of sharing – a 12th “ingredient” fondly known as Sonic Seasoning.

This holiday season, KFC Singapore is proud to be the first in the world to recreate the classic old Jingle Bells song into a tune that is scientifically proven to elevate your festive dining.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow with Parmesan Truffle Chicken featuring KFC’s signature chicken drizzled with a truffle-infused cheese sauce and sprinkled generously with grated parmesan. The delicious fried chicken you know and love now comes with lashings of powdery cheese that aptly resembles snow for the festivity.

While preparing for its anticipated comeback of the popular Parmesan Truffle Chicken, KFC Singapore searched for ways to enhance its flavours and discovered Sonic Seasoning, where sounds are able to evoke unsaid emotions and transform our brain chemistry to see more, feel more, and taste more.

Created with the help of consumer neuroscientist Professor Gemma Calvert from Nanyang Technological University and materialized with musicians, the famous Christmas track has been put through participant tests for validation. The refreshed Christmas song serves as the ultimate flavour enhancer to KFC’s Parmesan Truffle Chicken. So before you dig in, scan the QR code and play this specially arranged Christmas jingle to taste a new dimension of your meal.

Its low frequency bass-heavy and resonant tones amplify the umami and richness while sharp and high frequency sounds like bells, chimes or staccato notes heightens the sense of crispiness. The various timbres, tones and beats of the jingle promise to enhance the enjoyment of your chicken and burger, providing a truly immersive sensorial experience.

The More The Merrier

Adding to the variety is a new iteration: the all-new Parmesan Truffle Burger. Bite into KFC’s signature Zinger fillet, drizzled with truffle-infused cheese sauce and finished off with a sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese and sandwiched between glazed sesame buns.
