HDB has launched four Build-To-Order (BTO) projects for its March 2013 BTO, offering 3,898 new flats in three non-mature towns, namely Bukit Batok, Punggol, and Sengkang.
A wide variety of flats, including Studio Apartments (SA) and 2-/3-/4-/5-Room flats were offered. For 2013 as a whole, HDB will launch a total of 25,000 BTO flats.
First-timers will continue to enjoy priority flat allocation, with at least 85% of the BTO flat supply set aside for them. Of the 85% quota, 30% of the BTO flat supply will be set aside for HDB first-timer married couples with a citizen child aged below 16 years old, under the Parenthood Priority Scheme.
In addition, the Multi-Generation Priority Scheme (MGPS) is available to those applying for flats at Compassvale Cape, Compassvale Helm, and SkyPeak @ Bukit Batok. Elderly flat owners currently living in Sengkang Town will also enjoy doubled balloting chances under the Ageing-In-Place Priority Scheme (APPS) if they apply for a Studio Apartment in Compassvale Cape or Compassvale Helm.
Eligible first-timer households can enjoy up to $60,000 of housing grants, comprising the Additional CPF Housing Grant ($40,000) and Special CPF Housing Grant ($20,000). With these grants, 2-room and 3-room flats will be priced from as low as $57,000 and $159,000, while 4-room flats start from $269,000. This will enable young couples to buy their first home (Table 1).

APPLICATION FOR MAR 2013 BTO EXERCISE
Flat applications can be submitted online at www.hdb.gov.sg/esales from 21 Mar 2013 (Thursday) to 27 Mar 2013 (Wednesday). Applicants can apply for one flat type in one town only.

BTO-CUM-SBF LAUNCH IN MAY 2013
In May 2013, HDB will offer 4,850 BTO flats in Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong West, Sembawang, and Woodlands. An additional 3,000 flats will be launched in a concurrent Sales of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise. Hence, watch out for the next HDB Sales of Balance Flats Exercise on May 2013!
