ASIAN CIVILISATIONS MUSEUM – NEW YEAR’S EVE COUNTDOWN AT ACM – 31 December 2012, 8pm to 12 midnight Free entry from 5pm – Welcome 2013 with the best of Thai popular culture! Enjoy a night at the museum and be dazzled by our current exhibitions, Enlightened Ways and Exploring the Cosmos. Party the night away with Club Neverland bands and DJs as they spin Thai disco tunes. Don’t miss exciting muay thai street dance and other special performances from Thailand! Admission to the Asian Civilisations Museum on 1 January 2013 will also be free.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE – A LIFE OF PRACTICE -KUO PAO KUN – Now till 24 February 2013 – Gain insights into the life and work of iconic Singaporean dramatist Kuo Pao Kun through a selection of photographs, manuscripts, letters, theatrical costumes and interviews with his peers.

PERANAKAN MUSEUM – EMILY OF EMERALD HILL: SINGAPOREAN IDENTITY ON STAGE – Now till 17 Febmary 2013 – Explore what it means to be Peranakan and embrace the legacy of the critically acclaimed play, Emily of Emerald Hill.

SINGAPORE ART MUSEUM – THAI TRANSIENCE Now till 6 January 2013 – It’s a brand new year and there’s no better time to visit the Museum to enjoy contemporary art! With free admission on New Year’s Day, take the opportunity to catch the enigmatic works at Thai Transience, which showcases paintings, sculptures, photographs and installations by leading Thai artists, alongside a selection of traditional artefacts. Hurry before the exhibition ends on 6 January! Also don’t miss contemporary artworks at PANORAMA Recent Art from Contemporary Asia at SAM at 8Q, featuring 24 artworks by 17 artists from all around the region.

SINGAPORE PHILATELIC MUSEUM – SPICE IS NICE – Now till May 2014 – ‘Spice is Nice’ exhibition traces the voyages of discovery, spice trade, colonisation, migration pattern, life in early Singapore, traditional cures and flavours of regional cuisine.
