Spend your Christmas on a Great Street – Orchard Road – from 17 November 2012 to 6 January 2013 with these special activities
Let Yuletide folklore and traditions bring out the nostalgic charm of Christmas on Orchard Road. Seasonal festive flowers and old-time handicrafts, along with a parade of classic toys such as trains and nutcracker soldiers, bring back the magic of yesteryear.
Above all, this will be a Christmas where we rediscover the special meaning behind the season. Beautiful folk decor and motifs will spread the message of Love, Peace, and Joy to all who step onto Orchard Road – A Great Street.
Join us at the Light-Up Ceremony – Saturday, 17 November 2012, 7pm @ ION Orchard outdoor atrium – Be part of the magical moment as Orchard Road transforms into a spectacular display of lights. The ceremony will be officiated by President Tony Tan Keng Yam.
Christmas for You & Me – Saturday, 17 November 2012, 8.30pm @ ION Orchard outdoor atrium – Bask in the Christmas mood and enjoy special performances by the Tanglin-Cairnhill Grassroots Organisations, and supported by ORBA and People’s Association.
Public Light-Up Stations – Saturday, 17 November 2012, 7.30pm – In front of Paragon, Mandarin Gallery, Wisma Atria and Wheelock Place
Join us to make Christmas more meaningful for those in need – Orchard Road Business Association will donate $ 1 to Community Chest with every candle lit at the four Light-Up Stations. To participate, collect a candle torchlight from our volunteers at any Light-Up Station from 7.30pm. This charity event is organised in collaboration with Celebrate Christmas In Singapore (CCIS), Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic.
