In commemoration of Singapore Red Cross’s 65th year of service to humanity, the Singapore Red Cross proudly presents “Love on Stage” Charity Concert at the Singapore Conference Hall on 18 October, to raise funds to directly impact less-priviledged communities.
“Love on Stage” is a heartwarming music and dance performance that tells a story of love, hope and volunteerism weaved into the fabric of the Singapore Red Cross. Featuring Dance Ensemble Singapore, with live music by the Singapore Armed Forces Music & Drama Company, the concert promises a visual and audio feast for the audience. Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong, will grace the event as the Guest-of Honour.
Tickets are now available at $200, $100, and $50. All proceeds from the ticket sales will help sustain the Singapore Red Cross’ local services:
- Red Cross Home for the Disabled – Singapore’s only home for the severely disabled, providing long-term residential, respite and day care services to more than 100 children and adults with severe and multiple (physical and mental) disabilities. Singapore Red Cross needs to raise $2.5 million every year to run the Home.
- TransportAid – Transport and escort service for the elderly and disabled from low-income homes to get to and from their life-sustaining medical treatments. In 2013, Singapore Red Cross transporters made close to 7,000 trips. With Singapore facing a rapidly aging population, and increasing public transport costs, Singapore Red Cross sees an even greater demand for this vital service. To continually provide for their beneficiaries, Singapore Red Cross needs to raise $700,000 annually to run the service.
- FoodAid – Monthly provisions of nutritious food for the most disadvantaged in our community, especially children and the elderly; delivered by Red Cross volunteer befrienders. Singapore Red Cross launched the ‘Meals with Love’ programme last year to benefit 50 families. It takes $250 per month to provide the essential food rations to sustain a family of four. Singapore Red Cross are hoping to increase the number of families under Singapore Red Cross care to at least 100. They need to raise $300,000 yearly to facilitate this programme.
The Singapore Red Cross’ capacity to continually deliver humanitarian aid is largely dependent on YOUR goodwill and support for their lifesaving mission.
