The Art of Giving
An Exhibition of One-of-A-Kind Gifts
From 14 Nov to 30 Dec 2014 @ Scotts Square, Level 2
Wheelock Properties in collaboration with LASALLE College of the Arts proudly present a showcase of unique gifts – Neo-Nostalgic Objects of Desire, conceptualised and fabricated by LASALLE students and alumni.
Inspired by local traditional motifs and nostalgic design icons, the artists create contemporary gifts and objects-of-desire, reflecting Singapore’s multicultural heritage and local lifestyles. The diverse artist creations include stylish wearable fashion accessories and usable home decorations in a variety of materials ranging from paper and cloth to acrylic and ceramic.
In recognition of creative excellence and craftsmanship, the artist of the winning art work will be awarded the Wheelock Art Prize of $5,000 and the opportunity to nominate the charity to which Wheelock Properties will donate $10,000.The art works may also be acquired from the artists with proceeds going to LASALLE College of the Arts Student Project Fund.
