The Istana grounds will be open to the public on Friday, 20 February 2015, from 8.30am to 6.00pm, in celebration of Chinese New Year.

Programme Highlights
Visitors can enjoy various entertainment items including Lion Dance, Acrobatic and other dance performances by Nanyang Girls’ School Lion Dance Troupe, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, PA Talents and SOKA.
The Singapore Bird Park will be displaying macaws and parrots. Hay Dairies will put their farm goats on show. The programme line-up is listed below
Members of the public can also choose to sign up for the Nature Guided Walk at the Istana, a collaboration between the President’s Office and the National Parks Board (NParks) which will showcase the Istana’s flora, fauna and biodiversity, or take a guided tour of the Istana main building led by volunteers from the Preservation of Sites and Monuments division of the National Heritage Board and view selected function rooms and display of gifts presented to the President and the Prime Minister by foreign dignitaries.
Admission Details
Entry to the Istana grounds is FREE for Singaporeans and Singapore permanent residents.
All others visitors are required to pay an entrance fee of $1 per person. Entry to the Istana grounds is via the main gate at Orchard Road. The nearest MRT station is Dhoby Ghaut.
Additional fees as specified below will be applied for the guided tours. Istana souvenirs will also be on sale during the Open House. Proceeds from the sale of souvenirs and all entrance fees collected will be donated to charity.

The following fees are applicable for the tours of the state room, banquet hall and reception room in the Istana main building:

*Istana Main Building Guided Tours
Guided tours are conducted by volunteers from the Preservation of Sites and Monuments division of the National Heritage Board. The tours are limited to 15 persons per group, and depart every 20 minutes from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm.
All fees collected will be donated to charity.

Fees for Nature Guided Walk at the Istana
The following fees are applicable for the Nature Guided Walk at the Istana:

* Guided tours are conducted by volunteers and are limited to between 12 to 15 persons per group, and depart every hour from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
All fees collected will be donated to charity.
There will be a variety of performances on the grounds during the Open House. For an entrance fee of $2, visitors could tour selected function rooms in the Istana building and view a special display of gifts presented to the President and the Prime Minister. There are also guided tours of the Istana building, conducted by the Preservation of Sites and Monuments (PSM) volunteers.
Notes to Visitors
The following items will not be allowed within the Istana grounds for security reasons:
- Pointed and sharp objects (e.g. knives of any size, forks)
- Flammable items (e.g. lighters)
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for all visitors, and to prevent damage to the premises, the following activities will not be allowed within the Istana grounds:
- Wheeled sports (e.g. cycling, roller blading)
- Littering
- Smoking
- Consumption of alcoholic drinks
- Pets (except for guide dogs)
No storage facilities will be provided. Security personnel reserve the right to turn away visitors who bring along items that are not allowed.
All visitors will need to go through security screening prior to entering the Istana grounds.
The sale of tickets to enter the Istana Main Building will close at 5.30pm, subject to crowd conditions.
