The annual Takashimaya Chinese New Year bazaar is back!

Tradition is a handing down of beliefs and customs from generation to generation. It provides a sense of belonging by way of reconnecting with family and friends. Tradition also allows us to show appreciation for life and circumstance.
According to the traditional Chinese calendar, 2019 is the year of the Pig.

In Chinese culture, pigs are the symbol of wealth; their chubby faces and big ears are signs of great fortune and prosperity. Those born in the year of the pig love entertainment and treat themselves well.
In line with tradition and custom, the Takashimaya Lunar New Year Fair showcases over 60 booths offering the best treats; from top-grade abalone, delicate tarts and cookies, auspicious blooms and home furnishings for a symbolic instant home-makeover.
Aptly themed 满 (măn) – which means “Abundance” in Mandarin, the fair will be held at Takashimaya Square from 10 January to 3 February 2019, 10am to 9.30pm daily. At this Fair, everything one needs for a successful celebration is available.
