The latest Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding session, which took place on 17 April 2024, has seen a notable increase in prices across several categories, indicating a robust demand within the automotive market in Singapore.
The COE, which is required for vehicle ownership in Singapore, experienced a rise in its second bidding exercise for the month of April.
In the most recent bidding round, Category A saw an increase from SGD 89,000 to SGD 94,010. Category B witnessed a marginal rise, with prices going from SGD 101,334 to SGD 102,001. The price for Category C (goods vehicles and buses) also went up, from SGD 67,501 to SGD 68,502. Interestingly, Category D (motorcycles) saw a slight decrease in COE prices, with a reduction of SGD 10, bringing the price down to SGD 9,990. Lastly, Category E (open category, excluding motorcycles) experienced a hike, with COE prices moving from SGD 101,002 to SGD 103,249.
This upward trend in COE prices reflects the competitive nature of vehicle ownership in Singapore, where the limited availability of COEs often leads to fluctuating prices.
