The latest Toshiba netbook, NB550D is now available for sale in Singapore. The NB550D-1005G is going for $599 and boasts a 10.1″ WXGA TFT screen, powered by a AMD Dual Core C-50 Accelerated processor at 1 GHZ, with 1M cache. And a AMD Radeon HD6250 graphics accelerator to improve 3D gaming performance.
Toshiba did not miss out in the audio department either. It comes with Harman Kardon Stereo speakers and Dolby Advanced Audio. Plus 1 GB of DDR3 1333MHZ RAM and 250GB SATA hard disk with shock absorbers. So it’s an excellent performer in gaming as well in the class of netbooks, but don’t compare it to larger notebooks and desktops and expect it to run Crysis at maximum detail levels.
The only complaint we have is that it has no 3G built in modem and you will need to live with a protruding dongle when you need to surf outside.
