GOG is having a 75% OFF bundle deal at www.gog.com for selected D&D games for one day only on 27 December 2012. Some of these games will be increasing in price due to GOG’s new deal with Interplay.
D&D fans are really lucky when it comes to PC games. Almost all of the RPGs set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons have become classics.
Just look at the studios that made those games: BioWare (Baldur’s Gate I and II, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: KOTOR, Mass Effect), Black Isle Studios (Fallout 2, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment), or Troika Games (Arcanum, Vampire the Masquarade – Bloodlines, Temple of Elemental Evil).
Late ’90s were a fantastic time for RPGs. Arguably, never later or never before were so many fantastic role-playing games brought to life. And even though they were so similar, they never copied each other, and each of those classics has its own distinctive style. For 27 December 2012, they’re all 75% off in the Dungeons & Dragons Deal at www.gog.com.
Baldur’s Gate: The Original Saga and Baldur’s Gate II: Complete collectively received over 10 “Best game of the year” awards from publications such as PC Gamer, Eurogamer, Computer Games Magazine and IGN.
Likewise, the Icewind Dale series brought the D&D license to action RPG gaming, first in the old-school 2nd edition, and then with the updated 3rd edition mechanics in the second game in the series.
Planescape: Torment is widely considered as one of the best storytelling RPGs in gaming history, and if you’ve never heard the story of Nameless one, it’s time now to fix this mistake.
The treasure chamber wouldn’t be complete without Neverwinter Nights–a game with a great single player campaign that offers even greater multiplayer experience and modding capabilities.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard is a fascinating blend of RPG and RTS. Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is an action RPG with some interesting tactical elements to go along with the usual hack and slash of the genre.
Finally, Temple of Elemental Evil is not only a great tactical RPG based off one of the most famously brutal old-school tabletop RPG modules, but it’s also one of the most difficult PC games you’ll ever play.
