Retailing at S$2,998, the ASUS TAICHI™ 31, a sleek Windows 8 Pro Ultrabook™ with a 13.3-inch dual-screen design, will be available in stores from tomorrow.
Announced last October at the Windows 8 launch, ASUS TAICHI is a dual-screen convertible Ultrabook that offers the mobile flexibility of a tablet with the performance and features of a notebook. Featuring third generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor, the ASUS TAICHI 31 is the latest edition to the ASUS premium touch Ultrabook family.
Multi award-winning 2-in-1 design
ASUS TAICHI is designed to be multi-faceted, with two sides transforming into four distinct usage modes – Notebook screen, tablet screen, mirror screen and dual screen. Reflecting life’s diversity, ASUS TAICHI allows users more ways to express themselves. It is a versatile device for many roles, many places and any time. ASUS TAICHI has received a number of awards since its launch last October. Preloaded with Windows 8 Pro software and possessing the same stunning black-mirror finish and slender profile as its 11-inch counterpart, ASUS TAICHI 31 is as elegant as it is innovative, and packs a host of features that help make light work of any productivity task.
As a tablet, the performance of ASUS TAICHI 31 is powered by Intel® Core™ i7 processor and blazingly fast SSD storage. The scratch-resistant glass display with 10-point multi-touch makes user experience on the Windows 8 Pro device effortless and intuitive to use for everyone, while the supplied pressure-sensitive stylus is perfect for taking handwritten notes, annotating documents and drawing sketches.
As a convertible notebook, ASUS TAICHI 31 offers three unique ways to work. With just the inner display active, ASUS TAICHI 31 is a powerful Ultrabook with a comfortable backlit keyboard and a generously proportioned touchpad incorporated with the ASUS Smart Gesture technology. Furthermore, both displays can also be active at the same time in Extended Desktop or Mirrored Desktop mode, making it easy to show a presentation or share a video, without the need for a clumsy external monitor or a bulky projector.
Brilliant images and astonishing audio quality
The presence of dual full HD displays with IPS technology give outstanding clarity with vibrant colour and 178-degree wide viewing angles. Dual-band Wi-Fi with Intel® WiDi and Bluetooth 4.0 offer high-performance wireless connectivity, while two USB 3 ports provide full support for the latest high-speed external storage devices and rapid mobile device recharging.
ASUS SonicMaster technology, co-developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower®, delivers astonishing sound quality on ASUS TAICHI 31 with all kinds of listening material. ASUS TAICHI 31 also features a rear 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with 1080p full HD video recording and a front-facing 720p HD video camera, plus a noise-suppressing array microphone for crystal-clear video chat.
Furthermore, ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II technology provides up to seven hours battery life with Wi-Fi web browsing, and up to two weeks’ standby time with two-second resume from hibernation.
