Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids in Singapore, a tablet built specifically for kids with the educational tools and safety features parents want.

“Nowadays, kids are using technology more than ever before, for play and for learning,” said Irene Ng, Vice-President, Marketing, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd.

“We identified the need for kids to have better learning tools so we created a device just for kids that provide them with an intuitive, fun and kid-friendly user experience filled with rich, interactive and educational content that also lets parents share and participate in the learning journey.”

Enriched Kids Content

Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids comes pre-loaded with top ranked apps for kids and brand new Kids’ Store, which features curated apps for kids, aimed at driving the educational possibilities of technology for kids.

Pre-loaded content includes educational, games, entertainment and e-book apps such as:

Toca Hair Salon 2

In this kid-friendly, super-creative kids app, kids get to run their very own hair salon with six fun characters to choose from. Kids are given the option to cut, color and style hair any way they want, using different hair styling tools – from a simple comb and scissors to a curling iron and a straightener. They will be able to trim mustaches, spray mohawks bright pink and give someone the curls they’ve always wanted!

Pettson’s Inventions 2

This is a fun and pedagogic app that teaches logic and stimulates creativity for children of all ages. Kids will help old man Pettson and his cat, Findus to build amazing inventions by identifying which objects to be included in the machinery. As usual, a secret waits to be unlocked for those who manage to complete the puzzle.

Kids WORLD

Kids WORLD is a kids’ theme park that provides various types of educational contents developed with widely loved local and global characters for your children. With famous character brands and qualified contents which help children in developing well-rounded abilities, including EQ, Creativity and Language, parents can put their trust in the Kids WORLD, the education oriented application for kids.

Farm 123

Professionally designed with toddlers and pre-schoolers in mind, Farm 123 pays special attention to learning reinforcement through the introduction of gently progressive games that helps children cement their grasp of the numbers 1 to 10 and the core concept of sorting. Kids will love learning to count as they help Farmer Jo around the farm in this magical pop-up book and game. Skoolbo Core Skills

This is an educational game with 12 learning worlds and more than 400,000 questions designed to help 4 – 10 year olds strengthen their Core Skills in literacy and numeracy. The multi-player games incorporate beautifully designed 3D worlds, individualized avatars and a highly effective rewards system. Teachers and parents receive comprehensive reports detailing not only strengths and weaknesses, but also suggested individually customized activities for student improvement.

Parental Control

Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids offers parental control features such as the ability to select the apps parents want their kids to have access to, using the Application Manager.

Developed with kids’ best interests at the forefront, Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids also includes a Time Manager feature that allows parents to set specific time periods for use. When the designated use time is up, a password protected lock screen appears, requiring a parent or adult to enter the password to unlock the device. This tool will help parents ensure the time their children spend on smart devices is balanced.

1 Device, 2 Modes

Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids is designed to be versatile. When kids’ playtime is over, parents can switch to the Standard Mode and enjoy it as a normal tablet, without the need to own a separate tablet.

With 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 3.2 megapixel front-facing camera and 1.3 megapixel rear-facing camera, Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids has the power and performance users have come to expect from a Samsung GALAXY tablet, while designed to provide kids with an exciting, interactive experience.

A Kids Grip Cover Kit featuring a kids-friendly grip and multiple stand options will be bundled with the Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids. The case also comes equipped with an easy-to-grip C Pen, providing fun drawing capabilities without the possibility of leaving marks on other objects.

The Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids will be available from November 16, 2013 at $388 at Toys”R”Us, Popular book stores, major consumer electronics and IT stores, and Samsung Experience Stores.
