OCBC Bank Singapore has raised its standard Personal Banking Singapore Dollar Time Deposit promotional rates, with online placements now reaching 1.65% p.a..

Update: OCBC S’pore Fixed Deposit Rates Up To 1.85% p.a. as of 21 Oct 2026

A minimum of S$20,000 in qualifying fresh funds is required 🏦

Rates shown are as at 1 Oct 2026. The current promotional range covers six- and 12-month tenors, with online rates sitting 0.05 percentage point above the corresponding branch rate for both tenors.

Compared with the 1 Sep rates, the top standard Personal Banking rate has risen from 1.40% p.a. to 1.65% p.a.. Each currently listed six- and 12-month branch and online rate is also 0.25 percentage point higher than its 1 Sep equivalent. The earlier table included an 18-month tenor, while the current OCBC promotional table lists only six and 12 months. Looking further back, OCBC’s tracked headline standard Personal Banking SGD promotional rate has risen from 1.15% p.a. in March 2026 to 1.25% from 16 June, 1.30% from 22 July, 1.40% from 1 September and 1.65% from 1 October. That represents a 0.50 percentage-point increase from the March level, with the 0.25-point rise from September to October the largest step in this sequence.

Who can open an OCBC Time Deposit? πŸ‘€

OCBC lists the Time Deposit account as available to anyone aged 18 or above who is a Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident or foreigner holding a valid pass.

How to place an OCBC Time Deposit 🧾

Review the latest promotional details at the OCBC Time Deposit page. Placement can be completed digitally through Internet Banking or the OCBC app, or with assistance at any OCBC branch.

Digital placement and fresh-funds check ⚠️: A new placement through the OCBC app or Internet Banking requires an OCBC Time Deposit Account. Existing OCBC current or savings account holders without one can open a Time Deposit Account through the OCBC app. New customers applying online must first open a 360 Account or another OCBC current or savings account, while branch account opening is also available. Although the app asks for funding from an OCBC savings or current account, the promotional amount must still satisfy OCBC’s fresh-funds definition; an existing OCBC balance is not automatically fresh funds simply because that account is selected as the funding source.

Placement through the OCBC app πŸ“±

  1. Log in to the OCBC app.
  2. Tap “More”, followed by “Accounts” and “Time Deposit (SGD)” or “Time Deposit (Foreign Currency)”.
  3. Enter the preferred Time Deposit amount, from S$20,000 to S$999,999 for the promotional online placement.
  4. Select the preferred tenor and displayed interest rate.
  5. Select funding from an OCBC savings or current account.
  6. Select the preferred maturity instruction.
  7. Review the placement and Terms and Conditions, then slide right to place the funds.

OCBC’s current app instructions set out these seven placement steps and show the online amount range of S$20,000 to S$999,999.

Fresh-funds requirement and placement limits πŸ“Œ

The promotion requires at least S$20,000 in fresh funds. For this promotion, the funds must not be transferred from existing OCBC Bank deposit accounts and must not be provided in the form of OCBC cheques, cashiers’ orders or demand drafts.

The maximum promotional placement is S$5,000,000 at branches and S$999,999 online. The current OCBC information also specifies that the promotion is not available for placements using Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS) funds. For deposits above S$1 million, OCBC directs customers to call 1800 363 3333 or visit a branch. For calls from overseas, the Personal Banking number is +65 6363 3333.

Useful checks before locking in funds πŸ”

  • Match the tenor to expected cash needs: Choose a maturity date that leaves sufficient liquidity for planned spending and emergencies.
  • Compare online and branch rates: Online placement currently pays 0.05 percentage point more than the corresponding branch rate for both listed tenors.
  • Confirm fresh-funds eligibility: Ensure at least S$20,000 meets OCBC’s promotional fresh-funds definition before placement.
  • Check the final rate before submission: Review the tenor, principal, interest rate and maturity instruction shown on the confirmation screen.
  • Consider staggering larger placements: Splitting funds across different maturity dates can provide more regular access to cash, subject to the applicable promotional conditions.
  • Check eligibility restrictions ⚠️: The promotion applies only to personal accounts held by individuals. Placements using SRS or CPF funds do not qualify, and the promotion cannot be combined with other offers or promotions unless OCBC indicates otherwise.

Renewal option πŸ”„: An existing OCBC Time Deposit maturing within the next five days may be renewed through the OCBC Digital app at the prevailing promotional rate. The rate available at renewal may differ from the rate shown here, so check the displayed rate before submitting the renewal.

The key headline is straightforward: the highest current standard Personal Banking SGD promotional rate is 1.65% p.a. for a 12-month online placement, with at least S$20,000 in qualifying fresh funds. Compare the available tenor, rate, liquidity needs and placement channel before committing funds.
