Looking for a place to park fresh funds without locking away the cash?

Standard Chartered Singapore’s e$aver Bonus Interest Promotion is now running from 1 August to 30 September 2026, offering up to 1.60% p.a. on eligible incremental fresh funds 💰.

The promotion combines a prevailing account rate with a bonus interest rate. The highest tier applies when the primary account holder meets the qualifying wealth-holding requirement, while an interest rate of up to 1.40% p.a. remains available without qualifying wealth holdings.

With no lock-in period, funds remain accessible for transfers or unexpected expenses. However, withdrawals can lower the monthly average daily balance and reduce – or remove – the eligible incremental balance for that month, so access to cash does not mean promotional interest will remain unaffected 🔓.

Compared with the previous June-July 2026 Standard Chartered e$aver promotion, the bonus interest rate for account holders without qualifying wealth holdings has increased.

📌 Promotion details at a glance

  • Promotion period: 1 August to 30 September 2026

📊 Promotional interest rates

The total promotional rate is the sum of the prevailing interest rate and the applicable bonus rate:

Primary account holderPrevailing interest rateBonus interest rateTotal interest rate
With qualifying wealth holding0.05% p.a.1.55% p.a.1.60% p.a.
Without qualifying wealth holding0.05% p.a.1.35% p.a.1.40% p.a.

🏦 How the 1.60% p.a. tier works

The higher rate applies when the primary account holder has an eligible investment or insurance product purchased through Standard Chartered at the end of each relevant calendar month during the promotion period.

Maintaining the required wealth-holding status at month-end is therefore important when aiming for the full 1.60% p.a.. Eligibility remains subject to the bank’s detailed product definitions and promotion conditions.

💸 What qualifies as fresh funds?

Standard Chartered defines fresh funds as money that does not originate from an existing account with the bank. Funds withdrawn and re-deposited within 30 days of the Promotion Period are also excluded from the fresh-funds definition.

The bonus is applied to the eligible increase above the July 2026 average daily balance. Transferring genuinely new money from another financial institution is generally the clearest way to establish an incremental balance, although final eligibility is determined under the promotion terms.

🧮 How monthly average daily balance affects the bonus

Average daily balance, or ADB, is calculated by adding the account’s end-of-day balances for every day in the calendar month and dividing the total by the number of days in that month. End-of-day balances are measured at 11.59pm.

  • Existing qualifying accounts: The August or September 2026 ADB must be higher than the July 2026 ADB. Only the difference between the two monthly ADB figures is treated as the eligible incremental balance.
  • No increase for the month: No bonus interest is earned when the relevant promotion-month ADB is equal to or lower than the July 2026 ADB.
  • New qualifying accounts: For an account opened during the promotion period, the incremental balance is the ADB maintained in that newly opened account.
  • Month-end transaction cut-off: Standard Chartered indicates that only transactions up to the last working day or Saturday of the calendar month are included when calculating ADB. Transfers made close to month-end may therefore require extra care.

✅ Participation checklist

  1. Hold or open a qualifying account. Check that the account remains active and in good standing.
  2. Review the July 2026 average daily balance. This is the reference used to determine the eligible incremental amount.
  3. Add fresh funds during the promotion. Only qualifying incremental balances earn the bonus rate.
  4. Avoid recycling existing Standard Chartered funds. Withdrawn and re-deposited money may not meet the fresh-funds definition.
  5. Maintain qualifying wealth holdings when targeting 1.60% p.a. The relevant status is checked at the end of each calendar month.
  6. Review the full terms before transferring a large amount. This helps confirm account eligibility, balance calculations and bonus-credit requirements.

⚠️ Points to note

  • Only the eligible incremental balance receives the bonus interest rate.
  • The incremental balance eligible for bonus interest is capped at S$2 million per qualifying account or accounts.
  • Amounts outside the eligible incremental balance receive only the prevailing account interest rate.
  • Bonus interest is calculated after the end of each calendar month and credited in one or more transactions by the 25th calendar day of the following month, provided the qualifying account remains valid and in good standing.
  • For an e$aver account under Personal Banking, the listed minimum monthly average daily balance is S$1,000. A S$5 monthly fall-below fee applies when the monthly average falls below this amount. The fall-below fee is waived for Priority Banking customers.
  • A S$5 counter transaction fee applies for each cash withdrawal made by an e$aver Personal Banking customer. This fee is waived for Priority Banking customers.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, the promotion cannot be combined with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions.
  • The bank may amend the applicable rates or terms, or withdraw, extend or shorten the promotion without prior notice.
  • Singapore-dollar deposits placed by non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation for up to S$100,000 in aggregate per depositor per scheme member, in accordance with Singapore law 🛡️.
  • Foreign-currency deposits, dual-currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not covered by deposit insurance.
  • Account access is available through Standard Chartered Online Banking and SC Mobile 📱.

🔎 Links and further information

Standard Chartered’s e$aver promotion offers a straightforward way to earn bonus interest while retaining access to cash. The 1.60% p.a. headline rate requires qualifying wealth holdings, while the 1.40% p.a. tier may provide a simpler route for eligible fresh funds without that requirement. Checking the July reference balance and wealth-holding conditions before transferring funds can reduce the risk of receiving less interest than expected ✅.
