NTUC FairPrice’s Share-A-Textbook is into its 35th edition this year!
This evergreen annual project is part of FairPrice’s ongoing effort to help needy families provide for their children’s education, promote recycling and encourage thrift among Singaporeans.
Since its launch in 1983, over 4.7 million textbooks were collected

This year, the collection period is from 15 Nov – 3 Dec at any of the 30 conveniently located book drop-off locations – 7 FairPrice Xtra and 23 FairPrice Xpress stores

Q: What and when is the donation period?
This is when members of the public donate their pre-loved old textbooks for the project. They may do at any 30 conveniently located book drop-off locations (please refer above).
This year, the donation period will be at Book-drop @ selected FP Outlets from 15 Nov – 3 Dec
Q: What type of used textbooks can one donate?
FairPrice welcomes all textbooks that are in the current syllabus (click here for list of books in current syllabus) and in usable condition (i.e. no torn / missing pages and no scribbling).
Q: Will FairPrice take in assessment books, story books or encyclopedias?
Yes they do, they will be sorted under reference category for the public to choose from.
Again, FairPrice encourages donors to donate materials that are in line with the current MOE syllabus and refrain from donating materials published more than 5 years ago.
Q: When is the public distribution day?
There is NO public distribution day. Textbooks collected at drop-off points are exclusively for priority students shortlisted by VWOs, MOE and CDCs
