NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) invites the public to collect free textbooks as part of the Share-A-Textbook Project, this Sunday, 13 December 2015.
The public can do so at any of the three distribution centres – Warehouse Club, Gan Eng Seng School and Yio Chu Kang Secondary School, between 9am to 3pm.
With combined efforts of the community, FairPrice’s heritage Share-A-Textbook Project achieved its target of 400,000 textbooks this year. It has since collected 3.9 million pre-loved textbooks, which goes toward helping low-income families alleviate their financial burdens and save resources through recycling. Books available for collection include primary school to tertiary level textbooks, storybooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias and assessments books.
Some 20,000 students who have been registered under the priority scheme this year are expected to benefit from the textbooks. These students have been shortlisted by Volunteer Welfare Organisations (VWOs) and Community Development Councils (CDCs) for the scheme and are entitled to select their books on 12 December, a day earlier than the general public.
The public is invited to visit the following textbook distribution centres to collect free primary and secondary school textbooks donated by the community on 13 December 2015, Sunday from 9am to 3pm.
