⏱️ 10 books in 10 minutes
With plenty of readers expected to browse the selection, the giveaway follows a simple “10 Books, 10 Minutes” format. Each participant may browse for 10 minutes and take home a maximum of 10 books per person, while stocks last.
That makes a little advance planning useful: preferred genres, authors or types of reads can be kept in mind before entering the browsing area so the 10-minute window can be put to good use. 📖

♻️ Pay it forward with pre-loved books from the community
The giveaway is not only about taking books home. Members of the public can also contribute to the sharing spirit by bringing pre-loved books for others to discover. Each person may bring a maximum of 100 books.
Before packing a stack for the event, take note that the following items will not be accepted:
- Religious materials
- Textbooks and assessment books
- Magazines
- Annual reports
- DVDs, CDs or other audio-visual materials
- Damaged or worn-out items
These contribution restrictions apply to pre-loved items brought in by members of the public.

💛 Read, share and support a good cause
There is an additional community element for the 11th edition. Participants are encouraged to make goodwill donations to MINDS, NLB’s adopted charity, while browsing and picking up favourite reads.

The donation initiative complements the event’s wider aim of combining a love of reading with sustainability and community sharing. Contributions are goodwill donations rather than a stated charge for the giveaway books.
