Introducing the world’s thinnest Windows Tablet PC (without keyboard as of 4 September 2013) with Intel Core Processor Family, the VAIO Tap 11 from Sony will fulfil every user’s PC needs despite its remarkable weight and size.

Measuring a mere 9.9mm thick (without keyboard), it features a tablet form that offers the same ease of use as a conventional notebook, as well as with the same amount of computing power through the latest processor from the Intel Core Processor Family.

First introduced in its flagship smartphone, the XperiaTM Z, Sony has embraced the same design philosophy with the sleek VAIO Tap 11. It features a distinctive minimalistic form with balance and symmetry throughout, subtly rounded edges and smooth reflective surfaces on all sides. The VAIO Tap 11 boasts the world’s thinnest* body for tablet PCs.

The VAIO Tap 11 also includes a magnetic full pitch keyboard/cover, with a touch pad, that can be used via wireless connection. This gives users the ability to do work that requires high levels of productivity, which is conventionally done on a notebook PC.

On the other hand, the ability to detach the keyboard allows users to do work in a variety of situations. The magnetic keyboard can also attach easily to the display when it is not being used, which provides a protective cover for the screen.

To replicate the use of pen and paper with the VAIO Tap 11, the notebook comes equipped with the VAIO Inspiration Suite to meet the creative and editing needs of every user. The VAIO Inspiration Suite includes the CamScanner app, VAIO Paper app and VAIO Clip app so that users can take comprehensive notes on the go.

Taking images shot and reoriented on CamScanner, users can then clip out the subject of the image using VAIO Clip, and write memos on top of the images with their digitizer stylus in VAIO Paper. This gives users the same experience as drafting or sketching with pen and paper and much more.

This pen and paper experience is further realised with the VAIO digitizer stylus. Built with high accuracy and very small parallax sensitivity, the stylus even comes with two types of pen tips, with the hard tip for low frictional resistance and the soft tip for frictional resistance which replicates writing on paper. This ensures that what the user draws on the display is truly and directly replicated on the screen.

The OptiContrast panel on the VAIO Tap 11 also reduces reflection and supports clearer viewing, resulting in noticeably better pictures with higher brightness and contrast levels.

This means that the notebook can be used anywhere, even in a brightly lit room. By bringing the touch panel sensor of the screen closer to the display via the elimination of air in the construction, touch sensitivity is increased and more responsive, giving users a more intuitive experience.

The VAIO Tap 11 also comes equipped with the best visual and audio technology Sony has to offer. Built with the TRILUMINOS Display for mobile, this gives the VAIO Tap 11 a wider colour range than most traditional displays.

Tapping on the engineering expertise that created TRILUMINOS Display for the Sony BRAVIA 2013 range of TVs, the technology makes images more vivid and realistic by reproducing rich natural colours. With the ClearAudio+TM mode, the VAIO Tap 11 is also powered to deliver dynamic bass and soaring highs without distortion. With one simple operation, users can enjoy music with the levels of sharpness and depth that the artist truly intended.

For users who get impatient while waiting for their PCs to start up, the Rapid Wake + Eco function on the VAIO Tap 11 will help eliminate this problem while giving your VAIO a longer battery life in sleep mode.

Users only have to detach the keyboard/cover of their notebooks when their weekend or week vacation is over and they can rapidly get back to the tasks they were previously performing on the PC.
