The Heart of It All: Supporting Families Through RMHC

The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Singapore is an independent charity, and also McDonald’s charity of choice. The charity supports families with sick children through their core programmes built around family-centred care: when a child is sick, the family is stronger when they are together.

RMHC core programmes:

  • The Ronald McDonald House: A home-away-from-home located at the National University Hospital (NUH), just steps away from the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency ward (PICU/HD). Families are provided with accommodation, meals, and daily essentials so they can stay close to their hospitalised child.
  • The Ronald McDonald Family Room: Dedicated spaces where caregivers can recharge while being near to their children receiving care at the NUH PICU/HD and the Institute of Mental Health.

Together with its customers, McDonald’s Singapore has been raising funds for RMHC through various initiatives. Since 2018, customers donate $2, $5, $10 or simply round up their check to the nearest dollar when placing their order at the Self-Ordering Kiosks in-stores. In addition, with every Happy Meal® purchased, 10 cents goes directly to RMHC, helping families stay close through their core programmes.
