New on the Menu
Look forward to dishes that draw a fond bridge between the Chinese hawker cuisine of Malaysia and Singapore.
A must-try is the KL Style Hokkien Mee “Dai Lok Mee” ($13.30 regular / $20.50 large) a rich, smoky stir-fry of springy thick noodles specially made and imported from Malaysia glazed in dark soy sauce. This true Malaysian classic brims with wok hei and umami from fragrant pork, prawns and crispy lard.
More noodles come satisfying and satiating with Pan-fried San Lou Bee Hoon ($13.30 regular / $20.90 large), a specialty from Johor Bahru. Thin rice vermicelli is stir-fried with all ingredients until cooked through before pan-fried on low fire to crispen the sides. Each order is prepared individually for golden perfection that is thoroughly crisp on the outside, chewy and tender within and bursting with smoky wok hei aroma.
Pork belly dishes boast pork that features a well-balanced ratio of lean and fat. Stir-fried Pork Belly with Sambal ($16.90 regular / $26.90 large) fragrances slices of pork belly with a fiery and aromatic housemade sambal for a perfect harmony of spice, savoury depth and irresistible caramelised heat. Stewed Pork Belly with Taro ($16.90 per portion) draws from tradition with tender, braised pork belly layered with creamy taro from Thailand. The meat is first marinated then fried to achieve the prized ‘tiger skin’ texture before steamed with sauce for full flavour.
Braised Pork Belly with Salted Fish ($16.90 regular / $26.90 large) delivers a rich, umami-packed classic where tender pork belly is stir-fried with fragrant salted fish in a rich dark sauce, served in a claypot to retain heat and enhance aromas. Not to be missed is the Crispy Fermented Beancurd Pork Belly ($15.90 regular / $25.90 large) where pork belly is marinated in a housemade fermented beancurd sauce for no less than six hours before deep-fried for crunchy perfection bursting with flavour.
Bolder flavours are prevalent with Stir-fried Pork Rib with Stout ($16.90 regular / $26.90 large), where juicy ribs are cooked with Guinness stout for deep robust flavour. A dash of honey counters the bitterness of the stout reduction while lending it a sweet glaze that evenly caramelizes each rib.
Chicken bursts with bold flavour in the Stir-fried Chicken Fillet with Spicy Curry Sauce ($16.90 regular / $26.90 large). Tender chicken thighs are wok-fried in a fragrant, aromatic curry sauce made with belachan imported from Penang, Malaysia, lemongrass, red chilli, chilli padi, onions, dried shrimp, and curry powder. The result is a harmonious blend of heat, fragrance, and savoury depth in every bite.
A new take on a Singaporean classic, the Stir-fried Prawn with Chilli Crab Sauce ($24.30 regular / $36.90 large) puts prawns in the spotlight, doused in a national favourite sauce. Succulent prawns are coated in Singapore’s iconic sweet and spicy chilli crab sauce, for a prawn dish that is a luscious blend of heat, tang and rich umami indulgence.
Meatless options are equally enticing with the likes of Braised Tofu with Luffa Gourd ($15.90 per portion). Light, wholesome and guilt-free, it simmers silky tofu made in-house daily from fresh soymilk and egg, topped with tender slices of luffa, all simmered in a delicate, savoury superior stock for a dish that’s suitable for all ages.
Dessert also comes in new iterations. The Almond Jelly with Longan ($3.90 per portion) is light and refreshing, featuring silky almond-flavoured jelly paired with sweet, juicy longans, while the Honeydew Sago ($3.90 per portion) is chilled and naturally sweet, made with blended honeydew retaining bits of fruit and soft, chewy sago pearls.
