After its successful debut in July last year to rave reviews from the media and consumers alike, the well-known American quick-service chicken concept restaurant, is putting the popular REAL Salted Egg Fried Chicken back on its Singapore menu from 16 July to 26 August 2020, in celebration of Singapore’s 55th National Day.

Texas Chicken’s REAL Salted Egg Fried Chicken made its limited time only debut in July 2019 to rave media reviews and consumers’ positive feedback. Satisfying the nation’s preoccupation and cravings towards all things salted egg, the mouth-watering recipe, which took three years to perfect, uses only 100% fresh chicken that are delivered to the restaurants daily to ensure that the juiciness and tenderness of the meat are maintained at its optimal level. The outer layer is generously coated with real salted egg sauce and sprinkled with salted egg crumbs to give the ultimate crunch with every bite.

To celebrate and pay homage to the return of Texas Chicken’s REAL Salted Egg Fried Chicken to its menu, homegrown singer-songwriter and actress, Annette Lee, best known as SGAG’s “Sue Ann”, was commissioned to pen an original song.
Composed using some of the positive reviews and comments received last year for the REAL Salted Egg Fried Chicken’s debut, the lyrics included “The egg itself is quite natural, and somewhat reminiscent of a Tze Char stall’s salted egg dish”, “All I can say is Dayum! No words can describe this” and “Super super shiok!”.
Mr Eugene Lim, Director of Brand & Marketing of Select Group, said, “We are delighted with how well-received our REAL Salted Egg Fried Chicken was last year, and had numerous requests to bring it back after the limited period offer was over. So, we decided to coincide its return this year with the celebration of our nation’s 55th birthday as a treat to Texas Chicken fans!”
“We also hope that the original song, written by Annette, that is inspired by the words of encouragement from our friends, the media and customers, conveys the enjoyment of our authentic salted egg recipe, and for those who have not tried it to not miss it again”, added Mr Lim.
