What Is Yakiniku Day?
Yakiniku is a term that means “Japanese BBQ”. It is a fun and interactive dining where guests become the chefs! Did you know that in Japan, restaurants will often celebrate August 29 as “Yakiniku Day”?
Because in numerical wordplay, the date 8月29日 is read as ya-(tsu)ki-ni-ku (8 = ya, 2 = ni, 9 = ku). This is a special day to enjoy BBQ ever since 1993.
