Singapore Cancer Society is offering FREE Pap Smear Screening from 1 Jul to 30 Sep 2014 at participating clinics.
Cervical cancer is currently the ninth most common cancer among women in Singapore. It was once the second most common cancer among women for the five-year period from 1968 to 1972.
Cervical cancer is highly preventable and curable when detected and treated early through regular screening. The Pap smear test is the best screening tool available for the early detection of cervical cancer. SCS has been providing free Pap smear screening services since 1969.
What is a Pap smear? The Pap smear is a simple medical procedure used to detect early changes in the cells of the cervix which might become cancerous.
Free Pap smear screening will be offered to All female Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 25 and above
The above-mentioned are encouraged to undergo Pap smear screening at least once every 3 years
Free Pap smear screening includes the test and its results. Additional tests required shall be charged based on the respective clinic’s prevailing rates. Please call the clinic to schedule your appointment.
