First COE Bidding Exercise of Sep 2025

The latest Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding exercise for Sep 2025 closed at 4:00 PM on 3 Sep 2025. This marks the first bidding round of the month and has brought noticeable shifts in premiums across almost all categories.

COE Premium Movement by Category

Compared to the second bidding exercise of Aug 2025, most categories have registered upward adjustments. Below is the full breakdown:

CategoryPrevious COE ($)New COE ($)Difference ($)
A(Cars ≤ 1,600cc & ≤ 97kW)104,524107,889+3,365
B(Cars > 1,600cc or > 97kW)124,400127,501+3,101
CGoods Vehicles & Buses72,19071,556-634
DMotorcycles8,8099,101+292
EOpen Category (Excl. Motorcycles)125,001127,901+2,900

The rise in premiums for Categories A, B, D and E suggests stronger competition among private buyers, luxury car buyers, and even motorcyclists. Category C saw a dip, which may reflect reduced demand from the commercial sector. For buyers, this highlights the continued need to plan ahead and budget carefully, particularly with COE premiums hovering near record levels.

Category-Specific Overview

  • Category A: Covers cars ≤ 1,600cc and ≤ 97kW (130bhp). For EVs, it includes models up to 110kW (147bhp).
  • Category B: For cars above 1,600cc or exceeding 97kW, including larger EVs over 110kW.
  • Category C: Focused on commercial vehicles such as vans, lorries, and buses.
  • Category D: Dedicated exclusively to motorcycles.
  • Category E: Open Category, valid for all vehicles except motorcycles.
