Understanding the Categories

Category A: Includes non-electric cars with engine capacity up to 1,600cc and output not exceeding 97kW (130bhp), as well as fully electric cars up to 110kW (147bhp).

Category B: Applies to non-electric cars with engine capacity above 1,600cc or output over 97kW (130bhp), and electric vehicles above 110kW (147bhp).

Category C: Reserved for goods vehicles and buses, this category saw a drop this round, possibly due to lower commercial fleet renewal activity.

Category D: Covers motorcycles and recorded a modest rise, reflecting steady demand among two-wheeler users.

Category E: Known as the Open Category, this can be used for any vehicle type except motorcycles. It serves as a benchmark for overall market demand and remained nearly unchanged.

Stay Informed

Given the evolving nature of the COE system, vehicle buyers are encouraged to stay updated on policy changes, market fluctuations, and upcoming quota announcements.

More details, including historical COE prices and upcoming bidding schedules, can be accessed via the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and the One Motoring COE Portal.

As the government fine-tunes vehicle population control measures and responds to environmental goals, COE bidding dynamics will likely continue to shift, requiring buyers and sellers to remain agile and well-informed.
