First COE Bidding Exercise of August 2025
The first Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding exercise for August 2025 closed at 4:00 PM on 6 August 2025. The results show a general upward trend in premiums across most categories, with the sharpest rise recorded in Category B for more powerful passenger vehicles.
COE Premium Movement by Category
Compared to the second exercise of July 2025, COE premiums have edged up in most categories. Here’s how the latest results compare:

Category-Specific Overview
Category A: For cars with engine capacity ≤ 1,600cc and power ≤ 97kW (130bhp). For electric vehicles (EVs), the power ceiling is extended to 110kW (147bhp).
Category B: For cars with engine capacity > 1,600cc or power > 97kW. This includes high-powered EVs exceeding 110kW, and recorded the largest premium increase in this exercise.
Category C: Covers commercial vehicles, such as goods vans and buses. Although not the highest, premiums still rose by over $1,400, reflecting strong demand in the logistics and transport sectors.
Category D: Designated for motorcycles. It was the only category where COE prices declined, suggesting either reduced demand or an increased quota allocation.
Category E: The Open Category can be used for any vehicle type (excluding motorcycles). Premiums increased moderately by $2,334, indicating sustained competition for flexibility.
