For the period from 1 October to 31 December 2017, electricity tariffs will decrease by an average of 2.1% or 0.42 cent per kWh compared to the previous quarter.
The tariff reduction is due to the lower cost of natural gas for electricity generation as well as lower non-fuel costs.
For households, the electricity tariff will decrease from 20.72 to 20.30 cents per kWh for 1 October to 31 December 2017.
The average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will decrease by $1.59
