About Sumikkogurashi
Fans of Japanese San-X characters like Rilakkuma would be familiar with Sumikko Gurashi, which literally translates to “Life in the corner”. These characters prefer to live a quiet life at the corner and do not like being in the center of the room.
Sumikko Gurashi consists of a set of characters including ‘Shirokuma’, a shy polar bear, ‘Penguin?’, which is inspired by a Japanese water spirit, ‘Tonkatsu’, an edge piece of pork cutlet, ‘Neko’, a timid chubby cat and ‘Tokage’, a dinosaur pretending to be a lizard.
