The Labour Day – Hari Raya Puasa Istana Open House (IOH) will be held on Saturday, 7 May 2022.

Update 26 April: In view of the further easing of COVID-19 measures from 26 April 2022, the Labour Day – Hari Raya Puasa Istana Open House (IOH) on Saturday, 7 May 2022 will be open to all visitors between 9am to 5pm. Visitors who wish to visit the Istana during the IOH will no longer have to apply for tickets.

For the first time since the start of the pandemic, visitors to the IOH will be able to purchase admission passes to enter the Main Building, where they can visit selected function rooms and have the opportunity to view a collection of State Gifts as well as the room set-ups for state events. Safe management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all visitors.

The fees for the admission passes to the Istana Main Building are listed below. All fees collected will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge.

In line with prevailing safe management measures, visitors should remain masked at all times when indoors. Safe distancing ambassadors will help to ensure that visitors observe all safe management measures. The Istana seeks visitors’ cooperation and understanding so that the IOH will be a pleasant experience for all.

The President’s Office thanks everyone who had responded to the earlier invitation to apply for tickets to this IOH. In view of the easing of SMM from 26 April 2022, there is no longer a need to apply for tickets to enter the Istana grounds for this IOH.

The following fees are applicable for the entrance into the Istana Main Building

Souvenirs

There will be merchandise booths with limited-edition Istana souvenirs and President’s Challenge souvenirs. Only cashless payments via PayNow will be accepted.

All proceeds will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge. Social service agencies supported by President’s Challenge 2022 include those from the following sectors:

  • Children, Youth & Family
  • Disability
  • Eldercare
  • Mental Health
  • Rehabilitation
  • Healthcare
  • Disability Sports

The souvenirs include memorabilia such as:

  • Istana 150th Anniversary Books
  • Caps
  • Mugs
  • Bookmarks
  • Postcards
  • Notebooks
  • Umbrellas

Visitors Information

For security reasons, the following items are NOT allowed within the Istana grounds:

  • Pointed and sharp objects (e.g. knives of any size, forks)
  • Flammable items (e.g. lighters)
  • Canned food and drinks

To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit and to prevent damage to the premises, visitors are to note the following:

  1. Activities such as wheeled sports (e.g. cycling, roller blading), littering, smoking, consumption of alcoholic drinks are NOT allowed.
  2. Pets, except for guide dogs, are NOT allowed.
  3. No storage facilities will be provided. Security personnel reserve the right to turn away visitors with prohibited items.
  4. All visitors must go through security screening before entering the Istana grounds.
