SINGAPORE ART MUSEUM (THAI TRANSIENCE) – Free admission on 24 & 25 December 2012 (Activities on 25 Dec only) – Celebrate this festive period with contemporary art at SAM! On Christmas Day, a range of fun activities for the whole family awaits! Get creative and make a Christmas card for someone special or fold your very own Christmas tree ornaments. Alternatively, take a moment to enjoy the galleries or snap a fun shot at photo booths, inspired by the festive season and artworks from Thai Transience. Also, don’t miss your last chance to see contemporary artworks from the region in PANORAMA at SAM before it ends on 25 December.
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE – A LIFE OF PRACTICE -KUO PAO KUN – Now till 24 February 2013 – Gain insights into the life and work of iconic Singaporean dramatist Kuo Pao Kun through a selection of photographs, manuscripts, letters, theatrical costumes and interviews with his peers.
PERANAKAN MUSEUM – EMILY OF EMERALD HILL: SINGAPOREAN IDENTITY ON STAGE – Now till 17 February 2013 – Explore what it means to be Peranakan and embrace the legacy of the critically acclaimed play, Emily of Emerald Hill.
ASIAN CIVILISATIONS MUSEUM – ENLIGHTENED WAYS: THE MANY STREAMS OF BUDDHIST ART IN THAILAND Now till 17 April 2013 – Explore over 1,500 years of Buddhist art from Thailand in this special exhibition. Images of the Buddha, precious gold ornaments, gilded and lacquered furniture, and amulets are highlights of this show, which features many rare loans from Thai national museums.
