Singtel is ushering in the Chinese New Year of the Monkey with a goodie bag of treats for its customers.

All Singtel postpaid customers will enjoy two days of free unlimited mobile data from 12:00am on 7 February to 11:59pm on 8 February while Singtel TV customers will be treated to free previews of more than 150 channels from 12:00am on 5 February to 11:59pm on 14 February.

This benefit is offered to all Singtel Mobile Postpaid customers, including Corporate Individual Scheme (CIS) and corporate mobile customers, all of whom must use the APNs listed below (“Eligible Customers”).

Eligible Customers can enjoy free unlimited local data on 7 Feb to 8 Feb 2016. This benefit starts from 00:01hrs on 7 Feb 2016 and ends at 23:59hrs (Singapore Time) on 8 Feb 2016 (“Benefit Period”).

If your mobile price plan comes with a local data bundle, this means that your data usage during the Benefit Period will not be deducted from your bundle. If you are not on a data-bundled plan, you will still get to enjoy this benefit during the Benefit Period by using the APNs mentioned below.

For Postpaid mobile customers, you will need to access local mobile data (2G/3G/4G) through e-ideas/ Internet/ BlackBerry APNs. These are the default APNs on your device if you have not changed your settings. To ensure that the APN you are using to access cellular data is eligible for this benefit, please click your APN. Please switch off and on (restart) your device after 00:01hrs on 7 Feb 2016, in order to restart a new local data usage session to enjoy this benefit. This will ensure that your phone is not running any continuous background data session.

Default settings for Singtel Postpaid smartphone customers:

  • APN username: e-ideas (Default settings for Singtel Mobile Broadband customers (dongles/tablets))
  • APN username: internet
  • On iOS devices, go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network > APN
  • On Android devices, go to Settings > Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Points Names

Note: Customers who use internet APN will not be able to access My Singtel app.

As your local data usage is waived during the Benefit Period, you will not see any clocked usage during that period on your My Singtel App and on your monthly bill.

For customers whose surfing speed are being throttled under the Fair Usage Policy before 7 Feb 2016, 00:01hrs, will still have their surfing speed throttled during the Benefit Period.
