Robert Parker, one of the world’s most influential wine critics and writers, is headed for Singapore this 13-16 March as part of Wine Advocate’s Grand World Tour, presented by American Express International, Inc.
The Tour includes a five-city feast of exceptional fine wine and dining experiences in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
Consumers in Singapore have developed a discerning level in appreciating fine wines, which helped make the city-state a hugely valuable and sophisticated wine market. With a steady, increasing demand for premium wines, the market witnessed 14 per cent volume growth in 2012* and show no signs of abating.
To delight the palate of wine connoisseurs in Singapore, the Singapore stop of the tour will feature the best of Italian wines. Italy is legendarily known as Enotria Tellus, the “Land of Wine”, and boasts more than 300 grape varieties.
The Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate Grand World Tour in Singapore will provide guests with an opportunity to get Up Close and Personal with Robert Parker and enter into the fascinating world of wine appreciation. Attendees of this intimate dinner event will have an opportunity to sample labels and vintages from Robert M. Parker, Jr.’s own personal cellar.
With the Italian wine as the spotlight for Singapore, Taste of Greatness Masterclass – The Iconic Wines of Piedmont, Italy will present classic Barolo and Barbaresco wines from Northern Italy which promises to captivate the guests’ palate.
The Grand World Tour will also provide guests with a truly special chance to engage with other leading personalities in the wine industry such as Ms. Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW and Ms. Monica Larner during the Gala Hedonist’s Dinner.
Each city will feature different wine themes from Iconic French Wines and their World Counterparts (Hong Kong, Taste of Greatness Masterclass) to 1982 Bordeaux (Shanghai, Up Close and Personal with Robert Parker).

Up Close and Personal with Robert Parker – 13 March at 7:00pm
An exclusive opportunity to dine alongside with Mr. Parker on the same table at “Up Close and Personal”, guests will enjoy specially selected exclusive wines from Mr Parker’s personal cellar in this very intimate session while relishing the best of Italian wines including Sassicaia 1985 and Lafite 1996.

Gala Hedonist’s Dinner – 14 March at 7:00pm
The memorable Gala Hedonist’s Dinner will highlight twelve Italian wines from the Great Terroirs and Grapes of Italy, to be matched with a five to eight-course modern European dinner.
Guests will enjoy an intimate conversation with a famed wine personality seated at every table, which includes members of The Wine Advocate’s esteemed reviewer team, prestigious winemakers and vineyard owners. Guests will get to savour classic wines such as Gaja Sorì San Lorenzo 2004 and Tenuta Dell’Ornellaia Ornellaia 2006.

“Taste of Greatness Masterclass – The Iconic Wines of Piedmont, Italy” – 16 March at 11:00am
This special master class will focus on a selection of Italy’s most iconic wines from Piedmont, the region known to produce the most renowned, noble, and award-winning wines. The masterclass will feature discussions with Robert Parker, Lisa Perrotti-Brown and Monica Larner along with Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili Red Label Riserva 2004 and Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Rabaja 2010 wines.
